I was one of two editors on this episode, and it was great fun to wade through the raw footage of interviewing these celebrities.
Because of the nature of the interviews, the footage came to us in a wide variety of formats and codecs. As the resident encoding expert, I determined what needed to be transcoded and also troubleshooted ways to improve our encoding efficiency.
By manually testing which drives and which workstations we were using, as well as gauging whether it made sense to pre-render certain sections, I was able to boost encoding speeds by up to 400%. This was essential time saved due to the timelines and ensured that we were working most efficiently.
